Good

Excellent location and security.

Beds, bed linen and pillows need urgent replacement. Bed linen and pillows smelled pretty bad the first night. We asked house keeping to replace bed linen, and it got better. But not excellent.

Nice, spacious apartments

- Good location, nearby restaurants, old centre and sea. - Complex is guarded 24hours a day, which makes you feel save. - Nice gardens and pool to cool down on hot days. - Spacious apartments with balcony. - Although it could be done better, apartments are clean. - Good working AC.

- Apartments are a bit stale and damp (it gets a bit better when you turn the AC on). - Mold on fan in the bedroom and ceiling in badroom. - Although booking.com stated that we could pay via credit card, this was not possible at the hotel itself. Only cash or Paypal was allowed. Alfredo kindly offered us to pay the amount due via credit card at a shop nearby, as we were informed that the credit card machine of the hotel was broken.

Good Host

The location is in a quiet neighborhood and only 1 minute walk to the seaside; and facilities like the gym and pools were nice to have.

We arrived to the appartment and it smelled smoking residues and then saw that it wasn’t very clean; however, when we reported it to the host, he took quick action for it, and we appreciated that a lot.

A gorgeous building and lovely apartment make for a very comfortable stay in Cartagena.

Casa del Virrey was stunning and in excellent condition. The building itself was sparkling clean and beautifully maintained. The pool was perfect for those hot afternoons. The apartment we stayed in was also extremely clean and comfortably spacious for a family of three. The a.c. in the bedroom worked quite well and the shower was quite nice. The fridge kept things icy cold and the kitchen had the necessary utensils and appliances for short term stays. The furniture was comfortable and in excellent condition. The apartment was very tastefully decorated.

There were just a few small touches that could have made the stay even better. A few extra towels would have been nice; there was only one per person, and it would have been nice to have a couple of extra ones for the pool, as well as a bath mat for the floor. Another bar of soap—-one for the sink, and one for the shower—-would also have been nice. One light was hanging a bit out of the socket in the bathroom. A very minor thing, but easily fixed.

Rude staff, disorganized, suspicious, asked for money right away. We were treated like criminals. Our booking with you did not even show up. They acted like they did not even know us and we thought we had paid them, only to be asked for pay pal or cash right now. Recommend you remove them from your listings. I would never go there again and I am terribly dissatisfied. This experience makes want to use anyone now but Booking com. AWFUL.TERRIBLE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

Not recommended

Good location, quiet in a sense that you don't hear street noise, relatively good WiFi but still not the best for working remotely, the owner was responding to my messages relatively quickly, nice pool area

I stayed there one week and I would not recommend this apartment. The bathroom is tiny with poor lightening. I did not like the rain shower. The water pressure was low and water temperature was hard to set. There was no water at all for few hours one day. One of the front desk guys was unpleasant. There is a children pool just outside and you can hear kids screaming as early as 7 AM, especially on weekends. The walls are thin. I heard dogs barking at night, etc. Beds are not comfortable. There was no maid service other than they changed towels and bed sheets once. Lack of information for the property and amenities, e.g. washing machines. The handle from the balcony door broke down and it was never fixed after I reported it. There were some short power shortages a number of times. Note that the apartment looks very empty. There are almost no furniture. There were no cleaning products. I had to buy a mop, dish soap, napkins, paper towels, etc. It is not easy to cook your own meals, as there are very few pots and kitchen appliances. Not much privacy if you are on the balcony, as it is facing other apartments. No privacy in the bedroom, as the door from the bedroom is with glass. Bring your own toiletries, as none are supplied. On the last day, I learned that my flight was delayed. I tried to request a late check out but it was not possible, as other guests were arriving on that day. This is not owner's fault. However, if I stay in a hotel and my flight is delayed, late check out is usually possible

Great location, pool is nice, shower could be better....

Location was great, pool was lovely to cool off during the hot Cartagena days....(shower alternated between hot and cold, low pressure)...

I did not appreciate the lack of clarity of how to pay. When I read the description AND when I booked, it stated to pay at the property. I have made a lot of bookings without issue. When I tried to pay here, all of sudden it was "paypal only" or cash. My biggest complaint is that it did NOT state that when I booked (although Alfredo tried hard to make me believe that). This is Colombia -- I'm not carrying around this type of cash on me. If they wanted PayPal, they could have let me know earlier so that I could have paid ahead of time on a secure network.

Nice, big and clean apartment

Nice, big and clean apartment with a big outdoor swimming pool right outside the apartment. The apartment had good wifi and a nice kitchen and is nicely decorated. Very good value for money (we were there in the low season)

Great location. Spacious apartment with beautiful gardens

The kitchen could be better stocked. It is missing: paper towels, salt, pepper, mixing bowels, and dish towel. There are very few pots and coffee mugs. There is no shampoo.
